In our newest installment of HDNet Fights Video Vault, we take a look
at a recent welterweight bout between UFC veteran Pete Spratt and
fast-rising Nathan Gunn.

The undercard bout took place in early October and pitted the veteran
Spratt (19-13 at the time) against Gunn (7-0), the undefeated prospect
who hoped to claim the first signature victory of his young career.

World Extreme Cagefighting’s undefeated Dave Jansen (14-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has agreed to fight at January’s WEC 46 event, but the lightweight fighter won’t meet WEC newcomer Bendy Casimir (19-5-2 MMA, 0-0 WEC).

WEC officials today confirmed with MMAjunkie.com that Jansen is tentatively scheduled for the Jan. 10 card but couldn’t confirm his opponent.

However, despite recent reports of a Jansen vs. Casimir matchup, a
source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com Jansen instead fights
Kamal Shalorus (5-0-1 MMA, 1-0 WEC).

UFC and Strikeforce veteran Trevor Prangley (22-5), one of the sport’s top 205-pound free agents, picked up a light heavyweight title over the weekend with a submission victory over local favorite Marcus Sursa.

The South African fighter headlined Shark Fights 7 at Azteca Music Hall in
Amarillo, Texas.

Prangley, making his promotional debut at the show, ended the fight
with a rear-naked choke at the 4:40 mark of the first round to capture
the vacant Shark Fights title.

Earlier this month, M-1 Global exec Jerry Millen made waves by claiming
Fedor Emelianenko would be willing to fight Brock Lesnar for free.

UFC president Dana White recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio that he’s prepared to call Millen’s bluff.

“They’ll do the fight for free?” White asked. “That’s [expletive] weird
because I offered them millions of dollars to take the fight and he
didn’t take it. Now [Emelianenko] wants to fight for free? When and
where? I’d love him to fight for free.”

Despite being a holiday weekend with no major events (or, perhaps, because of it), we received a surprising amount of entries for this week’s edition of The Sunday Junkie, and they covered just about every hot topic imaginable.
